This photograph is from his Red Piano residency at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas. A week after this photo was taken he invited me to his Oscar party, held annually since 1993 as a fundraiser for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The piano was set up at the end of the red carpet and I spent the evening photographing celebrities sitting at the piano.
